Modeling While Traveling — How I Stay Ready on the Road
When you're a working model, your life is basically a suitcase and a prayer. I've flown from New York to Paris to Miami in the span of weeks, and I've learned the hard way what works and what doesn't when you're trying to stay camera-ready between cities.
Skincare on the Go
Flying destroys your skin. I always bring a hydrating face mist, a thick moisturizer, and sheet masks for the hotel room. I skip heavy makeup on travel days and let my skin breathe. The night before a shoot or show, I do a full skincare routine — double cleanse, serum, mask, moisturizer. Your skin is your canvas.
Packing Smart
I've gotten packing down to a science. My formula: neutral base pieces + 2-3 statement items + accessories that transform everything. I roll my clothes instead of folding (fewer wrinkles), and I always pack one "just in case" outfit that works for an unexpected event or last-minute dinner.
Staying Energized
This is the real challenge. Between jet lag, early call times, and late-night events, your body takes a beating. I drink water like it's my job (literally — hydration shows on camera). I try to get at least 7 hours of sleep, even if it means saying no to an after-party. And I always pack healthy snacks — nuts, protein bars, fruit — because craft services aren't always available.
The Mental Game
Traveling for work sounds glamorous, and it is — but it's also lonely sometimes. I stay connected with my people back home, I journal when I can, and I remind myself that every trip is a step forward. The hustle is real, but so is the reward.
